Celebrating the arrival in 1919 to Plymouth of the first crossing of the North Atlantic, two Catalina flying boats landed on Plymouth Sound. Onlookers were shocked as the last Catalina's right wing hit a buoy and began to sink upon landing, injuring crewman.
